Jelle de Jonge is a Dutch filmmaker whose work bridges mainstream appeal with a distinct personal voice. His tragicomic road movie De Terugreis was selected as the Dutch entry for the Academy Awards and won the Golden Calf for Best Film, confirming his talent for crafting emotionally grounded and accessible cinema. He also directed the recent box-office hit De Z van Zus (2024).

De Jonge made his feature debut with the popular comedy Bon Bini Holland (2015), followed by the romantic hit Weg van Jou (2017). On television, he has directed acclaimed series such as De Luizenmoeder and Nieuwe Buren, as well as Harkum, Kerst met de Kuijpers, Lieve Mama, and sketch shows including Toren C and Sluipschutters.
