Emma Westenberg is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker with a background in fine arts and over a decade of professional experience as a director and visual creator. A cum laude graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, with an exchange at New York’s prestigious Cooper Union, she moves fluidly between disciplines such as drawing, painting, theatre, film, and television.
Her work is defined by a bold and distinctive visual language where art, fashion, and pop culture intersect. Westenberg made her feature debut with Bleeding Love, starring Ewan McGregor, which premiered internationally at the SXSW Film Festival to critical acclaim. Emma has directed episodes of the US series Dollface, Little Voice and Long Slow Exhale. She was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Director for her Janelle Monae video Pynk and directed major commercials for brands such as Swatch, HP Computers and Cuervo Tequila
With her wide-ranging experience and strong artistic signature, Westenberg creates visually immersive worlds across both independent projects and commercial collaborations.
